Growing in Faith

 

 

 

The Christian faith is a journey. We describe 'Faith Begins', our adult baptism and confirmation course at the cathedral, as 'The Christian Faith explored, discussed and enjoyed!' On the Christian journey we explore and grow deeper in our faith, hope and love. Here are some of the ways you can walk on this journey at St Stephen's and our mother church St John's Cathedral.

The Old Testament in 5 weeks. Will will lead this course at the cathedral every Wednesday in July 2024, 8pm-9.15pm.

July 3rd: In the Beginning: Creation, Covenant, and Exodus 

July 10th: The Rise and Fall of the Kingdom of Israel 

July 17th: The Beginning of Wisdom: Exile and the Search for Meaning 

July 24th: Jesus and the Old Testament 

July 31st: The Early Church and the Old Testament  

 

Faith Begins - Baptism & Confirmation for Adults. Faith Begins is our adult Baptism and Confirmation Course at St John's Cathedral. Our priest Will leads and teaches on the course. The next course will start on August 21st 2024, on Wednesday evenings through to the end of November. Check the cathedral website for details.

Cursillo is a movement for the renewal of faith within the Anglican Church, in parishes and dioceses. Join a 3-day weekend to experience life in a Christian community, The weekend leads you into the Cursillo Community, meeting regularly with others to challenge and inspire each other to live an active Christian life at home, at church, at work and in the world. The date of the next HK Cursillo weekend in 2024 is October 3rd-6th.

 Bible Reading Fellowship (BRF) meets on Tuesday evenings, 7pm in the Upper Room at the Cathedral, in person or on Zoom.

Evening Courses at the Cathedral and Lectures at Ming Hua Theological College run frequently throughout the year. Check our Upcoming Events page and the Cathedral website for details.

Hong Kong Interfaith Network for Religion and Peace (HKNRP) meets monthly on a weekday evening, bringing together people from diverse religious faiths. Through our exchanges we learn more about the spiritual practices of others, and see our own faith through the eyes of others. Each year there is an opportunity to visit Kowloon Mosque as well as other places of worship. And there's an annual Interfaith Celebration of Peace at St John's Cathedral. Our priest Will is the chair of HKNRP.

Christian Meditation every Monday at 12.30pm at St John's Cathedral, following the practice of the World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM).
